Humax Foxsat sound problem

Recommended Posts

Having recently bought a Humax box to link up to a Sony flatscreen, I am now suffering problems with volume control.

With a scart lead everything works as expected, but with the HDMI cable connected the volume levels are much reduced and on the HD channels volumes are reduced again.

Has anyone any ideas?

This has come up recently elsewhere and is something to do with the way some channels are flagging the sound parameters.

It's certainly noticeable how the audio levels jump around on BBC HD.

I don't know if it's relevant, but when I asked Humax why the volume control

of the Foxsat HDR doesn't work on the BBC HD channels the answer was:

HI there,

Regarding the volume issues on HD, it seems the TV has a built in Dolby

decoder. This needs to be disabled through a setting on the TV in order to

correct this issue.

Many Thanks,
