Christine Animal
I have just heard that a Husky in beautiful condition with an English microchip has been taken by the pompiers to Refuge Fontorbe, Saint Jean d'Angely. I shall be given the number of the chip tomorrow. Here are photos of the dog, it's a male if you know of anyone who has lost him.
Christine Animal
The chip number is 98 10 98 100 60 30 18 but it is not in the database of http://www.europetnet.comI have asked them to try to find out.But Fontorbe have asked me if I could contact an English vet to see if they can help. Could someone please give me the telephone number, or even better email, of a vet in England. I don't know any !Many thanks.

Salty Sam
You could also give 'Identichip Locate' a try. Telephone 0044 (0)1904 487 600www.identichip.co.uk admin@animalcare.co.uk Alternatively, you could also try the 'Central Microchip Reunification Service' on 0870 606 6751. Salty Sam
Christine,I've just contacted the Central Microchip Reunification Service on your behalf. They have requested you rescan the dog and check the chip number. The number you have provided is sequentially incorrect. Apparently there should be a series of zeros following the '981' and although the first indication is this is an English chip, the database indicates it is incorrect. daisymay
Sorry ,slight variation. My vet said he would register my cats chip in France. Is there a Freanch site where I can check it has been done please?
Christine Animal
You're quite right Salty Sam, I have been informed by Europetnet that it is a chip that was sold to Virbac Spain. Anyone know a Spanish vet ? ! Daisymay, I don't know of a site, but you can call the Fichier National Félin tel. 01 55 01 08 08.

Christine Animal
Another photo taken yesterday. Maybe we'll get some news back from Spain soon. Europetnet sent a message there and someone else has sent messages to rescuers in Spain to see if they can help with the chip.
Christine Animal
Well, thanks to the clinic on Cooperlola's link, the very helpful person there traced the owner in Murcia. But he had given the dog to someone in Charente-Maritime, without reregistering it. They have now been contacted and are going to pick him up tomorrow.I don't know yet if they went to much trouble to find him, but it was quite a lot of work finding them !Thank you for all your help. Christine Animal
Yes, the new owner, who had apparently only had him for about a week, went and collected the dog. But Fontorbe didn't think he looked very marvellous and said they are going to go to check on him.

robkat
Really can't believe the effort you put in trying to find the owner of husky - it's heartening to think there are still such caring people out there. Our maison secondaire (soon to be permanent) is very near St Jean d'Angely & I had no idea there was a refuge there. Robkat with 3 cats!
Christine Animal
And it's a very good and friendly refuge Robkat http://www.refugedefontorbe.izispot.com/The dogs are happy and really well treated there. There are now two young ladies who are with Fontorbe and help enormously with rescuing dogs from the Niort pound and elsewhere, so we are often in touch with each other.
