Pedro Munoz, Madrid

Recommended Posts

Hello All

I just wanted to let you all know that i'm arranging to take some items down to Nuria for the Pedro Munoz shelter  (in about 3 weeks time) that is in such desperate need at the moment. So, if anyone has anything that they'd like to donate - dog coats, blankets, medicines, collars, food, money, cheques anything please let me know. If  I can't come to you all individually i'll try and organise a collection point nearby where hopefully, I or another person, can collect the items that you have donated.

Anything and everything helps

Thanks [:D]

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to show you what lovely coats a lady knitted for me to take to the shelter. I am so delighted with these that i'd pay to have one made. What do you think? [:D]

This is "Dolly" (a friend of the family!!) - modelling

one of the coats that Susanne made.

Also, Dolly’s ‘mum’ has taken the pattern and she will try

and make some in time for this trip.

We

will speak to you again soon and arrange to come down with a car load!

You will need a lorry because we have collected a number of duvets

along with other bits and pieces!!!

Yes, we will bring everything to you; especially now with the promise of “bikkies”.

[:D]

The earliest we can make it is the end of next week as I am still asking people

for donations, etc.

Now a general question; does anyone know of a company that sells extra hours as 24 a

day doesn't seem enough for us at the moment!!!![8-)]

Hello

Can either of the ladies that did the fabulous job of the knitted coats come up with a pattern.  As I said before my MIL would love to help but would like some guidance, I too could have a go if I had someone more experts notes to follow.  She lives in the UK and has firends also that knit so we might be able to interest more people, we just need something for them to follow.

When are you going to Spain, just trying to think what I can donate to your great efforts?

Knitted coat pattern

Charity shops sometimes sell "odds and

sods" of wool cheaply that may be suitable. They may also be able to sell

you very cheaply mens neck ties that are too grotty to put on display; 2 of

these with the thin ends sewn to the make coat as in step 9) make good

alternative belly bands.

 • Size 8 or 4mm needles
 • 500g ball of Arran wool or suitable thick wool.

1) Cast on 100 stitches in garter stitch and

knit for 24 inches.

Divide neck as follows:

2) With right side facing, knit 43 stitches

then cast off 14 stitches, which will be centre of the neck.

3) Knit the remaining 43 stitches from the

left hand needle onto the right hand needle.

Shape neck as follows:

4) Starting at beginning of row knit 43

stitches then slip remaining 43 stitches onto stitch holder.

5) Starting at neck edge decrease one stitch

every alternate row (by knitting two stitches together) until 20 stitches

remain, then cast off.

6) Return to remaining 43 stitches on stitch

holder and repeat to match other side. Wrong side facing, sew neck ends

together.

To make belly band:

7) Cast on 1.5 inches in garter stitch.

8) Knit for 66 inches and cast off.

9) Sew band onto dog coat half way down. (To

tie under belly)

Sorry i've not responded sooner but I will try and translate it for you later this evening. Can you confirm which pattern you're using Susanne? Can you email the pattern you're using so I can then just get on with the translation without having to search for the pattern in english first x

Morning Susanne

I had a go at translating the pattern last night but there are too many words which I can't find a translation for. Anyway, i've now put the pattern on the 'french language' page in the hope that someone will be able to translate it for us. Otherwise, I can go to the wool shop in Jonzac and ask for a pattern from them but I have a feeling that they're all going to be quite complicated..

Fingers crossed that someone comes to the rescue

One french knitting pattern thanks to Moonraker

Aiguilles 4mm

Thanks for the pattern. I shall pass it on asap.

Just

a small point and just in case anyone else is thinking of following

this, the original pattern states 24 inches which equates to 61cm
not 24cm   [:D] [:D]
1) Monter 100 mailles et tricoter 24cm point mousse.
Thanks again
