Christine Animal
Calls are coming in thick and fast for pets needing new homes.Today I had a call from a woman who lives near Niort, has no money etc., etc.She has to rehome urgently a male seven year old English Setter, tricolore and a Berger Malinois, also male and also seven years old. They are both supposed to be lovely friendly dogs, used to children and cats.We can't take them and all I can do is try to find a refuge for them. I just wondered if anyone would be interested in offering a home. There is also a nine year old male Leonberger, cause divorce of a couple of breeders.Voilà, if anyone can help, even foster homes, they are welcome. Chrissie
I didn't know what a Berger Malinois was, imagined something hairy and Briard-like for some reason[8-)]. Was surprised to find it is a sort of rangy German Shepherd type, though don't know how the size compares.Hope someone can be found for the dogs.Chrissie (81)
Christine Animal
Yes, I should have said, a Berger Malinois is a Berger Belge (Belgian Shepherd). There are different varieties, the Malinois being the short-haired one :http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berger_belge
Christine Animal
The refuge at Mornac, Angoulême have very kindly helped by taking the English Setter and the Malinois, so that's where they are. As soon as there are photos I'll post them here.
Christine Animal
Haven't got the photos yet, but here's another lovely boy the same age, seven (not three as in the link) also at Mornac. He's tired of being in the refuge and he's a really handsome, loving, playful dog.Seven is a nice mature age where the dog is old enough to know how and young enough to be a wonderful companion. Here is Eclair. More photos of Eclair here. Refuge Angoumois

Tam the english Setter, seven years old. They have two other English Setters, one of which is a female. I'll put the link to their site below. Berkana, also seven years old, and who is not a Malinois finally, but a Berger Belge Tervueren and a particularly magnificent one. http://refugeangoumois.getgoo.net/forum.htm
