Christine Animal
British people in France are often pointing out the way pets are treated here, when in fact there are an enormous amount of animal lovers and happy cats and dogs in France. All is not so rosy in the U.K. :http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet/news/newsbody.asp?article_id=
Queenie
I couldn't agree more. As an active supporter of several animal charities including the RSPCA I despair of the cruelty shown to animals by the supposedly "animal-loving" British. Most of the cases I know about are too distressing to share. Things may be bad in France, but people should not be complacent that they are any better in England/ GB. Tresco
I read recently that the last year has been the worst ever in terms of reported animal cruelty in UK (sorry, not sure if that should really be GB, or even England). Here is an example, but this isn't the report I read at the time.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/5210282.stmI suppose the greatly increased number of reports could be down to increased awareness, and willingness to report abuse? I hope so, because the alternative reason (that more and more people are seriously mal-treating 'pets') is horrible to contemplate.
