Oster Clippers

I have Oster A5 two speed clippers for clipping my two dogs as taking them to a professional groomer is too expensive. The problem I have is that when I start using the clippers on their fur it's fine but after a minute or so the blades stop working properly.

I have tried many things to rectify this I have cleaned the blades thoroughly, oiled them, not oiled them.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do next?

My dogs are a standard poodle and a standard poodle crossed with what looks like a spaniel.

Have you had them sharpened lately?

I have only used the blade once before so it cannot be blunt. It's a real pain because I have two dogs that look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards!!

What length are the blades?  When their coat is bad, you need short blades to get under the matted stuff.

Did it work okay the last time?

The blade is 3.2mm and yes it did work ok last time.

By the way totally off subject I still have little Mo she rules the roost here despite being the smallest dog I have

Glad to hear little Mo is fine.  At least you don't have to clip her!

 

Are their coats more matted than last time?  Maybe you need a shorter cut.  I used a 2 mm on one of ours today.  I've tried to find the different sizes to show you.
