Graham & Brenda
I have read the subject on this forum "Keeping up with English" but unfortunately the recommended link to Woodlands doesn't work.My English neighbour has 2 under 10s at French school where they are doing well. English is spoken at home. She is keen to maintain and develop the boys' written English - just as they would in English classes in the UK. Does anyone have any recommendations for appropriate books or courses please?

The Riff-Raff Element
If your friend has an interest in grammer in particular, she might dowell with the following. They are written for French students ofEnglish and thus explain English grammer in terms that those receivingan education in French are most likely to easily understand. They alsoreflect current thinking on how English is spoken....I find them highlyuseful."Grammaire Anglaise" published by Nathan in their "Grammaires Nathan Poche" ISBN 2091853836"Bled Anglais" published by Hachette ISBN2011689872

LisaJ
The National Literacy Strategy's "Grammar for Writing" is excellent and covers Key Stage 2. You should be able to track it down via The Standards Site website. ISBN 0 19 312401 7. regardsLisa
Dobsie
Where abouts in 16 are you? There is an association in Civray that teaches English to Anglophone children with the aim of maintaining their written / spoken English in line with their peers in the UK.
