Russell 23Russell
We have just realised that we are going to be travelling from Le Havre to Creuse on the 14th July, Bastille Day. What can we expect in the way of changed traffic conditions and opening hours of sevice stations and supermarches? Thanks
Iceni
You should assume that ALL French supermarkets, shops etc will be closed and only large motorway services will be open (an excellent reason for having a French credit card). As 14/7 is a Friday every French vehicle will be on the roads along with most of the Belgians and Ni L' argent (each towing the obligatory caravan/trailer).Johnnot
Kitty
I drove through France (St Malo to Bordeaux, via Rennes & Nantes) last Bastille Day (2005) and there was quite a lot of traffic on the autoroutes but hardly any lorries.
