Stig55
I live in France 6 months of the year and have bought a French camper van which is registered in the department where our house is. Can anyone advise me as to which French insurance companies will cover a non residents french vehicle
Chancer
Choose from any of the insurers, they just ask your address, occupation etc and not your residency status.
woolybanana
Try Mutuele de Poitiers Assurances, they have always been very with me, including pursuing an expensice claim related to the camping car/camper van.
EuroTrash
Chancer is right, I had a car here before I moved here, wasn't a problem. Well it was a bit of a hassle getting my UK NCB taken into account, that's all.You will of course need to change the carte grise to your own name. For that you can use utility bills with your name and address on as proof of address, oh and pay the registration fee of course. The insurers will probably not want to give you your sticker for the full year until you've done the re-registration and given them a copy of the carte grise, especially if the number plate is going to change.Happy camping-caring. Mikew
Buy one of the two major camping mags, there are numerous insurers advertising, my CC is insured with Nexx, good service when I had breakdown problems last year.
