I think if you go in and wave your carte grise at them they'll know what you want and write down a date and time for an appointment. CTs are all they do so there's not much other reason you could be there is there :-)

Are you allowed to keep a French reg car if you live in the UK?

No-one said anything about living in the UK.

 

To the OP, make your reservation on line using CTeasy or CTmalin etc, there are lots of sites which will let you book the major CT centres like Autosur in Calais who I would recommend because of their affiliation to the FFVE.

I kept and used an Algerian registered car in the UK for 15 years, gave it to my son, who kept it there another 5 years. He sold it in 1990. Saved a lot on road tax and didn't seem to bother anyone.
