Jendeb
We are moving to a farm house in the Dordogne in February/March. Subject to Mayor's approval, we want to site a mobile home during the renovation. We should be grateful if anyone could let us know the best place to find a mobile home to buy or rent for a reasonable cost (preferably under £2000 if possible, including transport costs). We have searched the net and just find sited vans or really expensive ones! Can anyone help please? Thanks a lot
Christine Animal
Have you done a search "mobile home à vendre Dordogne", "mobile home for sale Dordogne"? Here are a couple, though they may also be too expensive :http://www.ohara.fr/uk/occasions.phphttp://www.property-abroad.com/OP/PA/pre-used-mobile-home-prices.htm There are probably some ads in the local papers. Benjamin
Try some of the UK camping and mobile home companies ( Eurocamp, Haven etc ). They usually sell off mobile home stock at the end of the season (September) but they may still have something left that didn't sell. The stumbling block however will be your budget.Unless you are able to get hold of a mobile home that has been insulated etc. to live in all year round you will find it very very cold and damp as next winter comes on as they are only really built as seasonal holiday homes. Sorry I couldn't be more positive.Benjamin
Russethouse
I think he last ad I saw for these said 'starting from £3500' !
Anton Redman
Might not be what you want to hear but trailor section of a refrigerated lorry can be purchased for your budget and with minimum heat input is warm during the winter. Make sure you have some ventilation otherwise you could suffacate also do a deal to remove trailor when you buy.
Teamedup
The Mairie or DDE has to give you permission to have one of these on your land too. We would not be allowed to even if we ever wanted to.
