grey water systems

I did a search for 'grey water' and nothing came up. Surely this has been discussed on this site?

Given that today is 'world water day' and that the projections for the

southeast of England are dire, with similiar projections for parts of

France, has anyone installed this kind of system - i.e. using re-cycled

water?

Thanks,

Jan

It does seem strange doesn't it, as so many old houses have something rigged up. I haven't, which was a big oversight really as we had to fully renovate our house. It could easily have been done at the same time as the rest of the work.

I found a couple of short threads that might help

If Nick Trolope should  read this, how did the water level in your well hold up as the secheresse progressed last year ?

Here in La Creuse (23) my well went from one and a half  metres below ground level to nearly four metres below, but then seemed to stick at that no mater how much I took out. So I guess that must have been the drought water table level. Scary really; it's only really climbed back up in the last3 or 4 rain-sodden weeks.

No problem (not until the pump packed up, anyhoo). I've never actually measured the water level on a regular basis, but a few days ago (whilst I was trying to fix the pump!) it was approx 1M below ground.

I need to refill the pool this year and using our well water supply saves me about 200€ - worth repairing the pump for...!!

Ta Tresco, BTW.
