Interior wall insulation

Wibblywobbly

Recommended Posts

Hoping someone can help.

I am at the stage with my renovation where the first fix electrics are going in. As soon as that has been done I need to get the interior walls sorted. My preference is for panelling up to a dado rail, and then leave stonework above. It's all been damp-proofed.

Bearing in mind that the exterior walls are very thick, is the recommendation to completely dry wall and insulate these, or is it a needless expense? If anyone can give me a ballpark figure per metre for professionally installing dry walling/ceilings I would be very grateful.

Regards

Hi

From what you describe it sounds like dry walling is not neccessary,it is important to have an air space between the panels and the stone, I would cross batten ( horizontal ) with say' 20mm x 40mm treated timber and fix your panels to that.

Ball park figure for dry walling, 35 sq metre taped and jointed.

good luck
