Wibblywobbly
Hoping someone can help.I am at the stage with my renovation where the first fix electrics are going in. As soon as that has been done I need to get the interior walls sorted. My preference is for panelling up to a dado rail, and then leave stonework above. It's all been damp-proofed.Bearing in mind that the exterior walls are very thick, is the recommendation to completely dry wall and insulate these, or is it a needless expense? If anyone can give me a ballpark figure per metre for professionally installing dry walling/ceilings I would be very grateful.RegardsRob G
tj
HiFrom what you describe it sounds like dry walling is not neccessary,it is important to have an air space between the panels and the stone, I would cross batten ( horizontal ) with say' 20mm x 40mm treated timber and fix your panels to that.Ball park figure for dry walling, 35 sq metre taped and jointed.good luck
