WOODEN BALUSTRADES

Hi all

We are thinking of fitting some wooden balustrades around our terrace; however we can only find the wood itself plus spindles in our DIY store.  I'm sure I've seen these in ready made in panels of say 1 or 2 metres and just need to be bolted to posts.  Does anyone have experience of these or where we can find them.  Also, the floor of the terrace is concrete - are the supporting posts fitted to the "floor" using those "cup" type metal holders?  If so, any idea what they are called as we can't find them for sale anywhere.  Thanks

The posts should be off the floor so that the base of the post is not in contact with rainwater.

You need something like this, called pied de poteau:

They come in adjustable (as above) or fixed height and are found in Point P, Gédimat or BricoDépôt.
