BIG MAC
Quick question before I get involved in the contracting not so merry go round.....is there an equivalent database to the ABI (Association of British Insurers) database which would tell me if an Artisan's assurance decenelle is genuine and applicable to the job being carried out? Thanks in advance
pachapapa
Quick answer the word is décennale. Check and take copy of his/her/their policy and follow up with insurer.http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=d%C3%A9cennale&btnG=Rechercher&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
BIG MAC
Thanks Pachapappa....actually what does one do in year 8 when the repair to your roof has gone west and the company who did it went bust two years after doing the work and you are the third owner of the house since the work was done etc etc..........Is there a record of 'Registered Jobs'? Nick Trollope
No, which is why it is essential to get a copy of their insurance certificate. The cover is for when the work was done, so, assuming that the insurance co hasn't gone bust, the status of the Artisan isn't relevant.
