New Build phone query

For a new build - ie. one which will need a CONSUEL certification before an EDF connection, is it an absolute requirement for phone points to be in the green wall boxes, or is it just an advisory?

And will they still accept 'T' sockets, or must everything be RJ45's now?

The colour of the back boxes will be that of the make/type you chose to use. There is no requirement for any particular colour for any back box. Equally there is no actual requirement to use a particular colour of gaine, apart from underground use. Do please note that communications cables must now be run in 25mm diameter gaine (but you may put two inside one gaine) - this is despite the fact that you can still buy pre-filled phone/comms gaine in green 20mm diameter.......

Inverted "T" sockets have been non-regulatory since January 2008 so, yes. everything is RJ45 now.

Situation "prise gigogne" depends on whether the Permis de Construire is pre or post 01/01/08.

Dans les installations faisant l’objet d’un permis de construire déposé à partir du 1er janvier 2008, toutes les prises de communication doivent être de type RJ 45 (disparition des prises en T)
et le coffret de communication sera équipé d’un DTI format RJ 45.

In installations subject to a Building Permit presented on or after 1st January 2008, all communication sockets must be of the type RJ45 ( dissapearance of T sockets) and the Communication Termination Box will be equipped with a DTI with an RJ45 format.
