JP
Hi all,After a number of projects with local tradesmen (in 78600) that have been difficult to manage, overruns on the devis & not great quality, I am considering a change in approach for replacing / updating two bathrooms. The French company Lapeyre (www.lapeyre.fr) supply all sorts of stuff & have a fitting service - has anyone had any experience of using them for work & also the quality of the stuff that they supply? Thanks .... JeanS
We bought our kitchen from them but didn't use their fitting service. The units are fine and the service was good.
Val_2
I doubt anyone can recommend the fitting by a supplier because their employees come and go and everyone lives in different regions on this forum. However they are bound by the law to give ten years guarantee for works and good provided so if there is a problem you have comeback. However, there is nothing like a recommendation for a local artisan who will also supply and fit LaPeyre or other products, we always did for clients who chose their stuff, and you will get the lower rate of 7% TVA too if you use a TVA reg artisan
smear
This is very much true that some companies just do it once and never support work guarantee for their previous work and thus they just pass away from there. So it is important to choose reliable companies that could do better and then support their work for some time.
partout
Hi We have bought a fitted kitchen from Lapeyre, had their artisan fit it. The artisan that measured, arranged the delivery and fitted it was excellent, in fact we will be contacting the artisan in the New Year to get a devis for having a new front door made and fitted.Highly reccomended, but of course it all depends on the artisan assigned to youfrom Lapeyre
LesFlamands
Artisans register with Lapeyre who then pass on work if the client buying kitchen, bathroom, door, window etc. requires fitting. From the clients point of view this is a no hassle solution in terms of finding someone to do the work but quality can vary depending on the artisan. Rob Roy
Regarding bathroom goods we've bought several of their budget range of shower trays, shower doors, washbasins and toilets as well as floor and wall tiles (for en-suites in our previous chambre d'hote) and have found all of it to be of good quality. I can't comment on their artisans as my husband fitted the items himself.

JP
Well, the devis from the Lapeyre recommended guy was astronomical. We ended up using some other builders who were doing some bedroom renovation for us, ended up being about a third of the price - they have done a great job as well. In at 8am every morning, 30 mins for lunch which they take in the garage, then finish at 5pm - same on Saturdays although they arrive at 9:30 (at our request) so that we can have an uninterrupted family FEB ;-) Overall v v happy wih their quality, although the tiling is not perfect - same story on a previous bathroom that we did, not great quality on the tiling, unless I have v high standards & it is v hard to do (am not a tiler to say the least). These guys started mid Jan & they have gutted / renovated 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms .... will be finished by the end of this week. Well chuffed! Quality of the fittings from Lapeyre has been v good, although getting money refunded from them a nightmare. We changed our order & got a credit for some taps / shower fittings & then took some tiles back as we didnt like them whe we got them in the bathroom. They can take your money in a heartbeat from your card, but getting it back involved an extra form, a RIB & all sent to head office for a refund in 6 weeks! JP
BTW, Bill .... yes, they will do all plumbing, electrics & whatever else may be needed - once you have chosen your fittings, furniture etc. you pay €100 for one of their recommended ateliers to come round, verify that everything works, enough quantity etc. & to produce a firm quote for removal of all old stuff, prep & fitting of new stuff - I used that quote to get a much better offer from our existing builders
cooperlola
I don't know where JP is, Bill, nor where you are in Normandy but these people did our bathroom:http://decoration-salle-de-bain.perdereau.fr/Lovely job (not cheap though) and full service also.
