Quillan
Does anyone know the exact colour reference for the "French" lavender blue which many shutters are painted in france?Thank youPatti
Bleu lavande although just use the word Lavande would be OKhttp://www.leroymerlin.frThe select Peinture DroguerieThenPeinture pour bois extérieurMake sure you get a branded product as most give 9 or 10 years grantee if you apply it correctly. Personally I take the off and lay them on a bench or something outside and take the electric sander to them both sides. I then take off any metalwork on the inside and spray them which gets the paint in all the nooks and crannies. If you don't have a compressor then give them a really good vacuum before painting then wiggle the brush around to ensure the paint gets well in. Colour is only a secondary consideration, the main object is to protect the wood. Not sure what the weather is like where you live but I use the paint that protects against higher UV rates. I hate painting the bloody things so paint that lasts a good 9 to 10 years works for me.
