Ian
My friend's house was rewired probably 30 years ago. One of the corridor lights is operated by either of two "push-on, push-off" switches. Recently, she found she couldn't switch it off.Any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm guessing that one of the switches may be broken? Thanks
Kong
push-on, push-off switches usually operate a relay in the tableau which does the switching. Maybe this has jammed or is faulty.
Ian
Thank you Kong, that's useful. I'll investigate.Cheers
Théière
Questionable whether that was done 30 years ago, relay is a more modern way. Originally probably a two way wired light. But you'll struggle to find a replacement these days
Kong
I think you may be right, but I haven't seen two way switches that operate by a push switch?

derf
I had a house that was renovated more than 30 years ago, that had push switches for the 3 way lights. The relay was behind a electrical cover plate on the wall.Les
