J & M
We have just purchased a barn for renovation - Work will not start till summer so it will be left empty for at least 3 months and is not habitable - Can anyone recommend / advise on a suitable insurance company ?[:)]
Mr Coeur de Lion
Try AXA.We've bought a similar thing and insurance is €60 per year for us.We're hoping it will fall down. It cost us €4500 and is insured for the minimum amount possible, €80,000[:)] It will therefore outlive the great pyramids of Giza!
bodie
Hi J & M read your post on the Forum. I've just purchased too and wondered apart from the one reply about AXA, did you receive any other possible names for insurance? I have to have insurance from day of completion (about 8 weeks away now) and so am anxious to get "sorted."Thanks, Bodie
leslieneils
Why not try one of the mutuelles? We got ours from Macif, but I reckon others might be equally worth a look.
bodie
Thank you but i'm still in the dark. What exactly is a mutuelle?? Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
Patf
Anothe big company is AGF - Assurance (ie Insurance) Generale de France. If you are going to France to sign for the house you will be sure to see a few insurance offices near the notaire's office. They will do the business for you on the spot. A mutuelle is another name for an insurance company.
woolybananasbrother
If you are in the Poitou region try the Mutuelle Poitou Charente
Gemini_man
I strongly suggest you do not consider Generali they have been a big disappointment for me!!
