Having done various searches on this forum general advice seems to be thatit is best to fill in a tax return here whether one thinks one has a tax liability or not, for various reasons.

Can anyone help with where or how i can get the forms? and when they must be filled in by? Presume they say on them where to send them to after completion
thanks in advance

Well I can answer this question instantly, as I rang the tax office earlier this afternoon as we needed to know for our son.

In our region at least, you can get the tax returns from the last week in February at all the Mairies. They have to be filled in and returned by the 15th of March. The address is marked on the returns.

So just call in at your local Mairie.

Last year (our first for French tax) I downloaded the forms from this website ( http://www.impots.gouv.fr/ ). There is also a tax calculator.

Sorry about the duplication! I tried to post a reply, but nothing seemed to be happening - so I tried again. A bit like buses - you wait and wait, and then three come along at once!

David
