Ruth
Just want to clarify our position and have searched previous contributions without success. Both my husband and I have been resident in France for the last 9 years in early retirement with teacher's pensions taxed in the UK and declared in France. We are about to receive NI pensions and have a form from the UK tax people to request tax exemption in UK as we are liable for tax on these in France. My question is ...are we liable for CSG and CRDS? If not what can we quote to the French authorities? Thanking you in advance Ruth
LesLauriers
I believe that once you are receiving your old age pension you will qualify for an E121 and you should not be liable to CSG on your pensions. You will continue to pay CSG on any form of savings interest. I suspect you will continue to be charged CRDS on your pension but at .5% it is not onerous. And once in receipt of your E121 you will not pay for the basic health cover.Other posters in your situation should be able to confirm the reality of the situation.
