TD4
Hi AllI need help. I've recently sold my house in France (Toulouse) and have returned to the UK. I knew that I'd still be liable to pay Taxe D'Habitation. Upon receiving the yearly demand, I completed the payment section with RIB attached and returned it to the Tresor in November. In addition, I had arranged with the Bank that I'd used whilst in France to be closed and any monies left to be sent to the UK at the end of the year (29/12) assuming that the Tresor would've taken the money out of my account by the 15 Dec. Lo & Behold, I received a letter and a final statement from my bank in France stating that the account had been closed as requested, but upon checkin the statement the Tresor had not been payed as of the 29 Dec!!!!So this is the problem, I'm not likely to return to France in the forseeable future.I have an outstanding payment of HabitationAnd I've closed my french account.I've also read in these forums that IMO (international money orders) are normally returned because of additional bank charges.Any suggestions?? Will
I thought the notaire handling the sale would normally have sorted out the payment of outstanding taxes, or the refund (via the buyer) on any already paid?
