malcy
Hello This is my first posting to any forumI intend to purchase a house near the port of Cherbourg although mine and my wifes income will come solely from the UK.We have negotiated with our respective employees favourable rest days which mean we can enjoy six days in France having worked seven in the UK. .We live near the Port of Poole and so the travelling is the easy part!We both intend to live there full time when we both collect our work pension, and then get work in France. Can any members advise me of any potential pitfalls which are not clearly evident.
Alexis
Finding work in France is not easy. It depends if you will do rubbish jobs that no-one else really wants. I don't know what age you will be taking retirement from the UK but I would say after 45 it will be very difficult over here. Different working contracts here too. Six months is normal before being taken on full time. If they take you on!If you will be relying on this extra income....
