LesLauriers
You can claim the mileage against your income tax.
overmonnow
HelloThanks for such a quick (and promising) reply - how do I prove my mileage? I'm not planning on cheating the system, but it seems like that's a major opening for abuse...Emma-Jane
LesLauriers
In the UK I claimed mileage by keeping a daily record of mileage, simple one liners like from Hemel Hempstead to Birmingham Northfields and return xxx miles.Yes it is open to abuse but if you make an honest declaration and keep a detailed record then you have nothing to worry about.France, as UK, vary the mileage allowance according to your engine size and mileage completed, for a 6cv vehicle covering over 20,000k a year it is distance x 34.6cts, 5,001 to 20,000k it is distance x 27.5cts + 1075€, under 5000k it is distance x 48.9cts.The rates are fully detailed on form 2041-NOT-K which should accompany your tax return.
