Teamedup
Taxe professionnelle is levied by the communes at businesses usually.
Nick Trollope
Indeed it is. Were you operating a business (in the commune or whatever the bill is from) in 2004? Most French taxes are levied in arrears.
Val_2
Seems very odd coming in now when it normally arrives about October time to be paid by end of November approx. Have you submitted business accounts this year by any chance for 2004?
Missy
Hi I've just received an invoice for Taxe Professionnelle 2004. Please could someone let me know what this is for? Thanks
It is a taxe on your business calculated on the asset value of it.You need to declare the asset value of your buildings, machinery, fixtures and fittings as well as any value on rental/leases you may have from say a car or a till/credcard system. Also if you have businesses in an other part of the country you will have a separate form to fill in for each of these other premises as it a tax levied in each department. It is calculated around March with one payment around May and final payment adjusted before early December. It is calculated for this year with whatever value the above mentionned where last year. Un bon comptable is what you need! as it is a pain to calculate... One part of my job I don't like!! Marlborough100
Hi everyoneThanks for your replies. This is for our second home which we bought at the end of 2003 and which we and family only use for holidays. Sounds as though someone's made a mistake, so guess I should contact the commune.Would we have to pay a taxe professionnelle if we decided to rent out the property as a business? Thanks again for your advice. Could be that the previous owner did use it as part of his gite business?Ask clarification at the address and phone number quoted on the demand. Val_2
I would personally go straight to your local Trésor Public who issue the invoices and inform them of the real facts as they have the power in France to help themselves to your bank account to pay outstanding invoices or get your boss (if you are employed here) to pay it directly from your next wage. Iceni
Just to let you know that the Search facility works sometimes !!!!!TP demand arrived yesterday - we don't have any business assets or employees so it must be based on some part of profits ? Charge is levied on prior year basis so does it continue into the year after retirement - I cannot believe that it will be a freebie ?TIAJohnand
