UK based mortgage in France?

Hi NTC,

i don't really see how you can get a "UK" mortgage in France!!!If you want a UK mortgage you could only do it with a lender IN UK!!!

What i mean is that french branch of UK banks are rulled by the same law than french lender.

Barclay's bank in France is a french company since 1967(Barclay's bank SA).

Abbey National became UCB mortgage a month ago, part of BNP Paribas, and CCF is a part of HSBC but could just provide french mortgages.

If you mean by UK mortgage e.g an equity release, i could find some lenders IN FRANCE who could set up that kind of loan

ntc - you could try this link.  There may be a few specialist lenders who could offer you a UK loan secured against a french property, although I have not heard of a case.  I would have thought that the market would be much more competitive for a french loan on a french property or an equity release on your UK property.
