do french insurance companies offer legal help under some of their policies? and if they do offer this option as with some uk insurance companies can be for tax or divorce issues?? one of the policies we have is with halifax i believe.

AXA do offer some legal cover (to conta claims from builders who get injured, cover some legal fees) but not for divorce or tax matters.

Never heard of being able to insure for advice on divorce, would have though that would had bankrupted some UK insurers if they did.

Why not contact a French insurance company and ask them?

Are your questions, all with a strange twist to them, some sort of wind-up?

A bit like other folk, I am becoming sceptical of your questions but for what it's worth we insure our house and contents with Pacifica via Credit Agricole. An optional extension to the policy is legal expenses which will cover such things as boundary disputes, problems with purchases where the goods are not fit for purpose and sundry other things but definitely not things like divorce or tax(?). The cost is 50€ per annum.

Incidentially, you think you have a policy with halifax (sic). Don't you know who you're insured with?

thank you very much for your help. it may look like a silly question but believe it or not some insurance companies in the uk do offer quite varied help under their legal advice. If you dont ask you dont know! i prefer to ask questions that may be  silly as i know for a fact that things never seem as they appear and I have learnt a lot on things.
