Ysatis
We have just received our first water bill and would be grateful on some information regarding the bill. Just a small bit of background in case it's relevant. Bought a building plot, near Civray, Vienne, in September '06, water was already at site and we had it connected (October) with a meter and standpipe and paid a few hundred euro's for the work.At the end of October we stayed at our land for 12 days in a caravan and that's all the time we have spent there, so far. Could somebody be so kind to translate a few things on the bill (incidently dated 30/05/2006 and for the period 13/10/2005 to 16/05/2006, and sent to our address in England), I've got the gist but would like to have another opinion.1) Facture intermédiaire2) Primes et forfaits Redevance Branchement 19,76 euro's (??) Redevance Compteur 15mm 3,67 euro's (is this the actual meter reading)3) Papillon à joindre à votre règlement ( directly underneath is a picture of sissors and a box to the left at the very bottom of the bill, with all the above information). I assume I cut that 'box' out and attach it with my payment, which will be by cheque to:4) Tresorerie de Civray (again, I assume, here) Any additional information on a water bill would be useful.Regards,
Mikew
Intermediate facture: bills are sent out half yearly, one with a meter reading, one intermediate, a guesstimate. Just had our inter, not a bad guess, just a lot of money!Even if you have arranged to pay by direct debit, the first bill must be paid by cheque, I fell foul of this one and earned a 10% addition for assuming D/D was all set to go!You pay for the standing charge, (your branchment) and then for water used (as shown by compteur). There is, on my bill, some small sum for anti pollution. For those enquiring souls who ask after costs of living in France: 6 months water, 49 M3, supply and mains drains charges = €266, in rural Charente. Sunday Driver
It's an intermediate bill showing a fixed charge for the connection and the water meter. There is no consumption charge on this bill. The papillon is the payment reference voucher that you attach to your cheque which you pay in to the Tresorerie
