Humptydingo
We have a small one bedroomed modern bungalow in Haute Vienne which we havehad for sale for a year now for just €45,000. For health/age reasons wehad to move back to the UK.My questions is :has anybody any knowledge of private houses being offeredor sold to the Habitation à Loyer Modéré or like organisations for socialhousing. It is ideal for rental, particularly to an elderly couple sinceit is single storey level and we had a concrete ramp to the front door builtfor wheelchair entry
Loiseau
Maybe your local Mairie would be interested in buying it, or could advise.Angela
Chancer
There is one around here called SIP, following the intervention of the Mairie and the assistant sociale they bought a property from the mortgage company that was about to foreclose on one of the agent municipales for the commune so it does happen, Loiseau's suggestion of the Mairie is a good idea, often they have a responsability to rehouse someone or put a roof over their head and many would prefer to work with a housing association to keep their hands clean. In the case of our village it was a good idea, it was a really dodgy family of drinkers who eventually burnt the place down and were convinced that once it was rebuilt they would be back in there again, the housing association thought differently, we had all seen the place and the gardens from the outside which was shocking enough, the Inside was like a horror movie.
