Gyn_Paul
Hi,Does anyone have experience of sending a cheque drawn on a french bank to a bank account in Germany ?The cheque's only to a value of 85 Euros.I'm interested in knowing the sort of charges likely to be incurred, and if they are happy to accept a French-worded cheque.p
andyh4
Paulused to be around 25DM (12€) but nowadays I am not even sure the bank would accept it. Our German Eurocheque books were withdrawn with the advent of the Euro and since then everything has been via bank transfer or debit card - just get the IBAN and SWIFT code of the person you are sending the money to and make a transfer at the bank - costs me 2,50€ with CA. Cjlaws
Just to confirm what Andy says, I occasionaly have to make payments to Germany, and payment by bank transfer is easy and quick. That's one advantage of a common currency.
