Aldridge Steve
I have search around the forum (I am new to this site) to try to find the answer to my question - please forgive me if I am going over old ground. We took charge of our new-build apartment in Nov 2005 (therefore on Jan 1 2006 for T D'H). I think we are exempt for 2 years being a new build? - so was expecting a letter during 2008. I have today received what looks like a letter (No. 1236 - MED) asking for details - checking I own the property etc.Questions: 1) Do I get 2 years exemption?2) I can probably fudge my way through this letter - but does anyone know of a website with "examples" of official letters and translations or how to fill them in?Thanks in anticipation of wonderful people helping me!!!![:D]
BJSLIV
The exemption only applies to the Taxe Fonciere not the Taxe D'Habitation. In some areas the exemption has been discontinued, its for the local authority to decide! If you submitted the form H1 within 90 days of the work being completed, you will receive the exemption automatically if it is still available in your area. Aldridge Steve
Thanks - on closer reading this letter is very easy to fill in anyway. I cannot find anywhere on this or any other site that has example letters and translations. I'm sure it would be very helpful if there was such a service - esp for people like me whose French is restricted to day-to-day getting by in shops/restaurants etc.
Patf
Our copy of the Oxford Hachette concise French Dictionary has a section of example letters in french. Don't know if there's one about taxe hd'habitation though. Pat.
