Our house will soon be habitable: how to notify the authorities?

We've never been assessed T de H on our "new" property, which we are renovating (having started by ripping out the kitchen, bathroom, wiring and plumbing), but it will be technically habitable as soon as the plumber comes to install the bouchon de vidange, therefore we'll be liable for T de H for 2008.

Whom do I notify about this, and when and how should I do it?

You house will be habitable when it has furniture in it.

Go to your local Hotel des Impots (the one with accents on, that I can't do) and fill in an "H1". The rest will follow...

Thanks.  I thought it was when the utilities were working.  We probably won't be up to furniture until spring (lots of plastering and floor-finishing ahead), but the kitchen appliances are already in, so I suspect that we'd better fill in the H1 before we leave for the winter.
