ams
Just received several (4) tax d'habitation bills in the post this afternoon. It was my understanding that the tenant would get this bill. The bills relate to new build houses. We visited the hotel de impot and duly completed the Declaration modéle H1 in early February 2007. None of the houses were completed until after January 1st 2007, we gave them the names of the tenants and showed them each lease and commencement date. In addition we also gave them copies of the builders statement giving the completion date for each house. Does anyone have experience of what has happened. ams
Ron Avery
You pay T de H and Taxes Fonciere in the year that it applies to, so your bills are from January to December 2007.
ams
Thank u for the response. It is my understanding that the tenant pays for the taxe D'habitation, and if the property was empty and not completed on the 1st january 2007 then none was due. In relation to taxe fonciere, it is again my understanding that none is due for the year of construction and for the following two years after the year of construction. My query is, why has any notifications been issued. i guess monday, will require a visit to the local hotel de impot, not exactly the best way to start the week. Perhaps the euromillions ticket will come my way. !!! ams
