seb47
Am I right in thinking that inactifs do not have to pay the 'social charge'? Surely not, given that we will be paying for private health insurance any day now? Thanks,
cooperlola
Our belief is that you do not pay the social charges on you pension income if you are not "a la charge" of the state healthcare system, but that you do pay it on "unearned" income which includes investments. But we're as anxious for a difinitive answer on this as everybody else. It has been discussed before and there are conflicting views and experiences (for a change)! You are correct of course that you don't pay a tiny 0.5% proportion of CRDS on your income if you have an E form. There is absolutely no conflict about the fact that you have pay social charges on rents and savings income unless your name is Sheila of course who dos not really live here[Www]
