Finaref

I received a short letter, with attached cheque, today. It has Finaref at the top but no address. It appears to be giving me a credit on my account and cheque in my name for 90€70. I have never heard of this company and have had no dealings with such a company so I have no idea what this is for. I looked up Finaref on the internet and it appears to be a finance/insurance/hospitalisation company.

Can anyone shed light on this for me. Should I try to pay the cheque into my bank or should I ignore it (there is no address or phone number for this Finaref)?

Finaref is part of Groupe Crèdit Agricole so no worries there.

Try Googling Finaref and you find out they are a personal finance company. If you bank the cheque they will, probably, then send you a finance agreement. Try ignoring it or take it into your local Crèdit Agricole branch.

Hi, thanks for your replies. Think I'll sit on it for a while and see if anymore transpires, such as follow up phone call or letter! Don't want any pushy sales person trying to tell me I've taken out some kind of loan with this company! Think it's very strange why there is no address, phone number or even a signature on the letter, just Finaref at the top. The cheque is Credit Lyonnais. Maybe a Christmas present....ha ha!!
