Juswundrin
HiWould I be right in assuming I can get one of these from our account at La Poste now that they're a 'proper' bank?Never having needed one before; is it something that'll be done while I wait or does it take a few days? Also, does my address appear on the cheque itself and, if so, will I be able to put someone else's address instead? (I'm buying something on behalf a friend, so it'd be better with his address on if that's possible)Thanks for any info.
allanb
My experience with the Banque Postale is that they can issue a chèque de banque immediately on demand, subject to the proviso that some of their branches don't have the ability to print the things, so they have to be sent from another office. In my case this took one day. I didn't investigate the possibility of going to the other office myself to collect it - the one day wasn't important. On your other question : I don't think the customer's name appears on a chèque de banque, but I can't remember for sure. Juswundrin
Hi AllanBelated thanks; got it sorted on Thursday. The cheque wasn't actually printed (it's a smallish branch), but they simply have a chequebook for the branch itself and it's just a case of taking the money from our account and giving us a cheque written from their own chequebook. And I can confirm that neither my name nor address appears on the cheque itself. Thanks again for the help.
