Just Chris
Don't know whether this is the right forum for this question, or not...I'm interested in purchasing a rather expensive pair of high-powered binoculars from the USA. The price quoted is net of any tax.Presumably, I'd have to pay some sort of VAT and/or import duty in France on this purchase - does anyone know how much, and what the procedure is likely to be? We're talking a couple of thousand US Dollars value.Chris
Danny
If memory serves me right from the last time I bought stuff from the USA, you will have to pay the French TVA at 19.6%You will normally be billed by the shippers if it is UPS or DHL or suchlike.Danny
Just Chris
Thanks, Danny. That's a whole lot of tax!Chris
Danny
At least if you're paying for it in euros, you are getting a lot for your money as the dollar is very low...Danny
