Generalsynopsis
I am UK resident, but run a Euro current account with Credit Agricole in France. If an Irishman (or other Eurozone national) presents me with a cheque denominated in Euros, can I post it to my French bank, and what advice should I include? Pickles
I don't know about Credit Agricole, but SocGen charges 1% (with a minimum of 20.33€) for crediting a cheque in euros drawn on a non-French bank.(Added later) I would suggest that it would be cheaper to get the payer to do an electronic transfer (this will be relatively low cost to the payer - eg SocGen charges 3.05 € flat fee to send money to a non-French Eurozone euro-denominated bank account - up to 50K€). Incoming euro-denominated electronic payments tend to be free. In some cases the cost to the payer may be zero as well as those of the payee.(added even later) You can send it to your bank but it would be best to include a paying-in slip.RegardsPickles

Generalsynopsis
Many thanks - not the "Get-out-of-jail-free" card I thought it was, then!
