House & Gite Rental To Let?

Hi,

My partner & I currently live in England and would love to have the chance to run a small Gite business in France.

Unfortunately, we are unable to sell our properties here due to the current housing market crisis!.Therefore, we are wondering if there is anyone or any such scheme whereby we could let a property on this basis?.

For information, my partner is French and I am English.

Any help or assistance as to where we could start research would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, Barry and Yvette.  I am confused by your post.  Are you suggesting that you rent a property in France that is big enough to run a gite business?

You should do a search on this website.  There are lots of threads about the pitfalls of running gites.

No, we dont run a Gite, we simply wish to know if we can have a Gite business on a rental basis.

You mean that you want to long-term rent some buildings and market / manage them yourselves in the short-term rental market ?

 

If so I have  no knowledge of the opportunities but bonne courage.

Barry and Yvette.  I am not sure where you start to look.  I reckon the problem with be that the profit margins will be small.  The gite market is time restricted.  Most people can let anything in July and August but unless you are in a tourist area or have something special, you will struggle to let gites outside the 10-week peak times.
