Crevette
Following on from my last post about 50% tax reductions for hiring a cleaner, has anyone any experience with this?Filling out the tax forms is always a bit of a nightmare and so I would be interested to know what you need to do / how it works. There is a bit more detail about the details of the law here ;http://www.menage.fr/tarifs.phpIt is pretty interesting that for 8 euros an hour you can get someone from a specialised company to clean your flat and iron your clothes... in the UK we used to pay £15 an hour for a housecleaner.Regards,-Rob-
samdebretagne
I believe it works for all of the services that fall under the cheque emploi regime, ie. tutoring/teaching English, gardening/yard work, cleaning, etc.
Clair
As Samdebretagne says, this falls under the CESU system.More details here: http://www.cesu.urssaf.fr/A change of legislation has made it possible for employers to offer their employees CESU "vouchers", which can be used to fiance various home-related jobs listed below
This in turn has lead to an increase in companies in the form a new type of employment agency, proposing staff to do these various tasks. Banks and insurance companies have also jumped on the wagon and most now have a "home help" section in addition to their more traditional range of activities. From an individual's point of view, the greatest advantage of employing someone under the CESU scheme, whether directly or through a company, must be the tax rebate, equivalent to 50% of all salaries and contributions made (but the value of the CESU vouchers given by the employers have to be deducted from that total), up to a ceiling of €12 000 (this varies according to age, needs...)When employoing someone directly, the agency which deals with salaries and deductions sends a letter every year, which totals the salaries and contributions paid. That letter (or a copy) is then sent on with the tax declaration form to justify the tax rebate.I assume the employment agencies involved do the same thing.
