Helen
We have received our first taxe fonciere bill, and the bill for rubbish collection but so far no taxe d'habitation bill. Is this normal? Both the bills were sent to our UK address, though I am not aware of when we gave it to them (perhaps it was part of the purchase process last year, or as a result of us telling the village mairie our UK address?)Can I assume that as two of the three bills have found their way to the UK, that the third one will do so as well? Or are they completely separate and the missing bill could be languishing in our postbox in France? We aren't due to go back to France until the end of October. And is the TdH bill normally higher or lower than the TF bill or is there no relationship between the two? Val_2
Taxe Hab has not come out yet, usually during October time. If they have a UK adress for all mail then it will go there as you are not tax resident in France. The habitation is based upon personal circumstances and income if you are a resident and for holiday use usually the rental value I believe. As for being higher than foncières I could not say as every commune is different and every property is different. You could ask at the local Trésor Public for the amounts paid last year.
