ams
Just another 3% tax introduced by the great left left left wing president of France Nico Sarco has arrived through our letter box this morning. His measures introduced on the 29.09.2008 to reduce the defecit in the assurance maladie will mean that our mutual will pass on the 3% to its clients at the next renewal. Rather than Sarco the great womens man and socialist cutting the huge waste out of the system, he creates another 3% tax. ams

ams
Sorry to rain on your parade, the legislation takes effect on the 01.01.2009, so you will be paying next year. ams
Sunday Driver
So it'll cost me the equivalent of a bottle of supermarket wine a month in 2010. Not worth the rant, I'd say........[;-)]
ams
Bottle of wine in a supermarket, I guess about €7, so €84 means nothing to you. ams
AnOther
€7 a bottle, someone has expensive taste [blink]To be honest €2.50 is more my mark, unless I buy it from the local vineyard for €10/5lt [:D]
Sunday Driver
Sorry, but you guessed wrong. You might be used to paying 7€ a bottle but I'm a little more frugal than that. I buy my supermarket wine at 3€ a bottle - and I pay my mutuelle by 10 monthly instalments, so it's 30€ for me. In commenting on your original hysterical outburst, I've obviously touched some sore point to provoke such a disgraceful personal attack against me.........[8-)]
ams
Gosh you seem to be very sensitive, Still think on the bright side you saved 4c on your mutuelle. By the way your mutuelle at €1,000 seems cheap for 2 and expensive for one. What coverage are you getting. Is it for 2 or 1. ams
Quillan
100 Euros a month is not cheap, there are cheaper, I found one for 85 Euros per month for two. Personally we pay a little more around 128 Euros for two to be exact but then we get like 1000 Euros towards bridge work and about the same towards glasses. My mutual will actually go down from the 1st Jan 2009 because I have two long duration illness's by apparently around 30% although I never believe insurance salesmen. It will probably go down 30 and then go up 25 so if you then add the 3% on I will still be better off.I think the OP must be very rich. We saved to by a bottle of wine for Christmas, it was 14 Euros because its a special time of the year and all that. I was going to pay for it out of my winter fuel allowance but not much chance now [;-)]. The rest of the year we buy 'bag in box' and for good wine you can't beat Lidl's and their 2.5 Euros a bottle stuff, there beer is pretty good as well especially the bottled stuff. Clair
The lidl Zinfandel is a favourite
Mine too, but I think it changed at about the same time they changed from cork to screw a few months ago. It tastes a tad sweeter now... Can't complain about the price though, down from €2.49 to €1.99!

tuppence
If its any consolation SD, I still think you are the bees knees.[:D] And as a comment on the original post I have just saved over 100€ a year by changing my mutuel to another provider with a few things added to the new one that I didn't get from the old one (a well known English speaking one).[:)] So I am one happy bunny, I only wished I was a wine drinker then I could benefit from all the good offers mentioned[B].tuppence

ams
What you consider as highly insulting comments I see as factual statements, the reason I deleted the comments was that you appear to be an extremely sensitive person. It would appear that my efforts to reduce your sensetivity have failed as you seem to have adopted a cry baby approach. ams
Cat
Ams, you might like to re-read the forum code of conduct, specifically this part...Users must not post messages which: Are insulting, abusive, racist, sexist, or derogatory in any way to others, whether they are individuals or companies, users of the Forum or not. This includes material sent via personal e-mails through this forum.
sueyh
I think, AMS, you should accept what's been said. Because if there is one person that we know we can always get help, assistance, humour and downright good advice from it is Sunday Driver. ams
I took your advice and re-read the forum code of conduct. Insulting would appear to be one of the "things" that one must not post in a message. The definition of insulting is to behave arrogantly. May I ask you to look at the first post by SD, clearly an act of complete arrogance not only a demonstration of arrogance but factually incorrect since it trys to imply that private insurance for health will not go up by 3% as stated in my post. I would suggest that an even handed approach should be the order of the day for a moderator. ams
allanb
From the forum code of conduct, as quoted...
Users must not post messages which are insulting, abusive, racist, sexist, or derogatory in any way to others, whether they are individuals or companies, users of the Forum or not.
I can't resist pointing out that some highly respected users have been getting away with "derogatory in any way" messages about G. Brown, A. Darling, and others. One that springs to mind is the instruction to "shut the f** up", which I would say is insulting, abusive and derogatory, although admittedly not racist or sexist. Having received my next renewal nine weeks after that date without any increase, that's what I reported - a purely factually correct statement. Nothing arrogant about it.If fact, it was your own opening statement that was incorrect - as demonstrated by your later correction:"the legislation takes effect on the 01.01.2009, so you will be paying next year."As regards an even handed approach, perhaps the moderator might care to review your deleted remarks and express an opinion..... ams
Again I am forced to correct you. It is a pity that you can not read english correctly, for if you had that ability you would note that I said OUR mutuelle will pass on the increase at the next renewal. So again you are manlipulating what was said, as to why, other than arrogance, I have no idea, perhaps you will stop clutching at straws and finally admit that you were trying to be "funny " with your 4cent response and in no way being helpful to other readers that may not have been aware of the increase. With the fall in peoples income because of inflation and the steep drop in the rate of exchange many people are finding great difficulty in making ends meet, responses such as yours are no help to posters. I am sure you have the ability to understand what I am saying, but are reluctant to accept that you are wrong. ams
