Barbel Bob
Hi,My son had his ipod stolen in school today and i was hoping to be able to claim on my home insurance, he informed the vie scholaire that it had been stolen, would he have to inform the gendarmes? to get a crime referance number or something similiar that would be required by the insurance company???The school was not really interested, which I suppose is because he should not have it in school in the first place, but he is upset as it was very expensive and will not be taking it again if he is fortunate to buy another!!!!Julie
Sunday Driver
In such cases, normal practice is to report it to the authorities as a theft otherwise the insurance company won't entertain a claim.
Barbel Bob
Thankyou, would i be able to phone the Gendermes or call along to our local one and are they only open between certain hours for such things? My husband gets home from work at 7pm every evening and he is the French speaker!
Kitty
I have found it easier to go along to the station (but not at midi....). They have always been helpful. Some of them speak a little English.
