ronboy
Hi everyone whose out there.first time on the forum so bear with me please.have just received a letter from my local tax office with the heading REDEVANCE AUDIOVISUELLE.i have managed to translate most of the letter i think and gather that they are asking if i have a post receiver in my appartment allowing me to receive french tv.i live on an three year old habitation of appts and villas that all have aerial connections fitted to them but don't really understand whether they are asking if i have that or some other device to receiver french tv(ie a digi box).if anyone has come across such a letter or know what i am talking about i would be grateful for any input.thanksKeith
Cat
More info here http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1471834/ShowPost.aspx but, in a nutshell, they want to know if you have a TV, or other equipment capable of receiving TV (for which you will have to pay the redevance audiovisuelle/TV licence). Pierre ZFP
Well hello and welcome. What they are asking is if you have a TV. Any other equipment you may have, aerial, digibox etc is irrelevant. If you have a TV you have to pay the annual 'licence' fee which is added to the Taxe d'Habitation. Even if you only play DVDs I think. They assume that every French has an address has a TV so they want their money. If you have no TV at all, there should be a section on the form to fill in and send back.EDIT: Ha! Cat beat me to it by 2 minutes (as usual)

Clarkkent
I have such a letter.I think - strictly - they are asking you if you do not have a tv. If you do have a tv, then as Pierre says, do nothing. Throw the letter away.
