NormanH
Since the advent of the Euro these seem to have disappeared in my area. Some friends who were visiting went to the Banque de France in Béziers on Tuesday to change some Danish money into Euros and were told that they had to go to Montpellier...and practically insulted for suggesting that there should be an exchange office locally. Other people have said to me but of course that is 'your fault because you haven't accepted the Euro' (a frequent accusation made by French friends to me as a Brit) Considering that the two airlines that currently fly into the airport are both from countries that have not adopted the euro (The UK and Denmark) I would have thought it only economic sense for tourism. What would an American with a fist full of dollars do?...Or a Japanese...Or an oil rich magnate wanting to buy a football team? [:)]A word in the ear of one of my neighbours (in the summer) might be necessary. He just happens to be the Prime Minister of one of the countries concerned ...
