Hi, does anyone know if the La Poste has an internet service so i can transfer money from my uk bank account ?
La Poste does internet banking for its accounts ... but that can't be what you mean, because to transfer money FROM your UK bank account you need access to your UK bank account. Are you expecting to receive the money into a French bank account? Or do you really want a wire transfer service a la Western Union?

AFAIAA you would just need to use the IBAN number of the Laposte account you want to transfer the money into. With this info your UK bank should be able to exchange your £££ for €€€ and send the euros across. I use the SEPA system for transfers these days as it costs only about £9..

I must add I haven't yet transferred to LaP directly from the UK, but I am aware that the facility exists from reading their blurb. We do have accounts with them that accessible by Internet.

possible ??
You may be able to use the "internet banking" service provided by your UK bank to INITIATE a transfer to the French bank, in the same way that you can phone them up (or walk in) and ask them to do the transfer, but the "internet banking" service does not actually DO the transfer. The transfer is electronic, via one of the inter-bank services such as SWIFT and all you need is the IBAN for your French account.
