What does this mean

I think you need to contact the local Tresorie with your reference and they will tell you what it relates to. It may be some kind of latent tax deduction, for something in the past that they think is due to them? Did you ever pay any taxes via direct debit?

[quote user="AnOther"]I've never paid any tax in France, always been exonerated due to paying tax in UK, and Taxe d'habitation + redevance audiovisuelle was paid by cheque, as was the Taxe Fonciere.

Curiouser and curiouser [blink]

Hi,

This question has appeared on several french (français)forums , and the answer given is that it represents taxe d'habitation or fonciere paid by TIP. When you sent your cheque did you send the TIP form (unsigned ) with it?  Could you have signed it by mistake?  Cec stands for "Centre d'encaissement de Creteil" . You need to check that you have not paid twice--has the cheque been cashed ,; They may have actioned the TIP in error--they do make mistakes!

[quote user="AnOther"]Query solved.

It was the Taxe Fonciere but I was sure 'er indoors had told me she'd paid it by cheque.

Can only put it down to poor comms I'm afraid [:$]

They do need a lot of minding dont they.

At times you think 'it would probably be a lot easier and less hassle if I did it myself' but you do not because you realise that they like to think they have their uses [:D]
