weather's gone completely haywire

Granted we haven't had the snow that Paris and the Grand Est have had but it's been really really weird.

Could rain torrents one day and be sunshiny and almost warm the next, perishing one day and spring-like the next.

Today, for example, between 18° and 12°, though feeling several degrees lower on account of the wind.  Oh the wind, that's another story.  We have had a strong wind blowing practically non-stop for at least 5 days now.

Look forum's been as quiet as the grave, so come on, tell us what the weather is doing chez vous?

Heavy clouds & light rain. Generally dark & miserable. I hate it when I have to put the lights on during the daytime. Doesn't seem much point getting out of bed.

Temperatures in the last week have ranged from -0.7 to 16. Currently 13. No wind here. Shame as it would push away the clouds.

Warm and damp here; when sunny can garden or entertain dog otherwise grey and dull. Dahlias have just been lifted as they got a little touch of frost as have the geraniums which are cluttering up the study **** junk room. Only a pullover needed outside but then I did put on long johns a couple of weeks ago ( which made my doctor roar with laughter) so am often in shirtsleeves.

OOOps, forgot the gales, southerly which is unusual but the reason for the warmth.

Yes, dark and miserable here too.  Lights on, heating on and great reluctance on my part to do anything remotely energetic such as cleaning the house.

Might do some ironing mind you as that would at least warm me up.

Still have my morning cold shower though the last few days I have had to steel myself to get in and tell myself no gasping when the cold water hits.

Rain's stopped about 15 minutes ago so will be off to Keep-Fit this evening.  I ducked out last Thursday because I couldn't bear the thought of changing from my nice woolies to gym clothes and arriving at the class wet and dispirited.

As you have said LMP, it's not exactly cold but not really mild.  However, the wind's died down at last.

We had such strong winds yesterday  that I had to eat inside, despite it being mild. The restaurateur had too bring in all the plants  even  the chairs were blowing away!

Less wind  to day but still very "Dreich"

Daft weather as I have just described it to one of my English friends .. much like you Menthe, up and down, cold and warmer .. sun then clouds - drieck as Norman H says ..wind yes, but we are used to that donw here, near Narbonne ..ville de vent .. is it autumn, is it winter, or maybe even spring ..?? who knows, but I hate the dark coming so early - though I'm someone who needs lights on unless it's bright sun .. so almost always on, and even more so in my study with 2 windows, but one (the sunnier one) with the terrace above, nicely therefore hiding the sun ..

The strong winds of last week have died down, temperature oscillating between 16°C and a frost.  Our neighbour on the same 5th floor decided at the height of the winds (gusting to 150kmph) to half close her shutters.  5 mins later she was at our door as the wind had ripped some of them out of the side rails.  My wife and I went to see what we could do.  After 20 mins tussling we managed to get them back in the rails and the shutter stowed.  I was outside on the balcony  bending them in and actually felt unsafe when the big gusts hit, hunkering down and hanging onto the window frame!   Not a pleasant experience.

Saw this on the news yesterday  Weather madness indeed!
